Illustrator Ellen-Maarit Juuso is a small village-bred from Käsivarre, Lapland, where his years revolve around reindeer husbandry. Feeding Kermikä in the spring and shearing calves in the summer. Growing up close to nature and traditional reindeer herding methods, he is inspired to illustrate stories that combine a love for his homeland and a deep respect for the northern way of life.

Lullabyist Jenny Siivola is the mother of a toddler and spent a large part of her childhood at the Oraniemi reindeer herding farm, fondling bottle-fed calves and chatting with her reindeer herding relatives, which has helped to develop her vocabulary.
